SST Says a Big Thank You to PC Helen Kirby

Helen cake

Helen’s cake created by SST’s Lisa Hercules

SST said good bye and thank you to PC Helen Kirby last week and presented her with a cake created by our administrator Lisa Hercules. Helen has been the street population lead for the Metropolitan Police in Camden for the last 18 months.

During this time she showed an extraordinary commitment to reduce crime and anti social behaviour committed by and against the street population making Camden a safer place for all.

Helen had the ability to balance compassion and support for vulnerable people with a clear understanding of the problems for the wider community that the activities of these people can bring. She was able to identify members of the street population involved in significant criminality and use the enforcement powers granted to her to protect the public, while also looking out for the most vulnerable and sign posting them to SST or other support services.

Helen led on a number of successful anti social behaviour order applications which significantly reduced ASB and crime in the borough.

Partnership work between SST and the police was greatly improved by Helen and we shall miss her. We wish her well in her new post of acting Sergeant in Holborn.
