Trading standards and the police have visited a number of premises on Camden High Street and in The Stables who were openly selling what trading standards have dubbed ‘lethal highs’.
Under consumer safety legislation, where a trader knows a product is going to be used in a certain way, they must provide information about that product to the consumer. For substances that will be used to get a high, the trader must ensure a host of information is available so the product can be used safely but as we know, because the products are so unpredictable and have not undergone rigorous safety testing, traders are not able to comply.
In light of this, traders must not sell these products and where they are found to still be in possession for supply, criminal enforcement action has and will be taken against them. If you know of a trader who is still selling these products, please call Crimestoppers on: 0800 555 111 or notify trading standards on: 03454 04 05 06.
